Microeconomics reflective journal

I am currently studying my first year degree at Taylors Lakeside for Finance and Economics. One of the subjects which I am taking is Microeconomics. My
lecturer for this subject is Ms. Marina and my tutor is Mr. Chung Tin Fah. I enjoy my lectures and classes as well. I feel my teachers make microeconomics more interesting. Personally I enjoyed learning more about macroeconomics when doing my Canadian Pre-U, this time however microeconomics was really fun and interesting.

During lectures, Ms.Marina would give a lot of notes and there would be a lot of explanation. She would always give so much of explanations and real world examples that it makes me not just memorize the concepts or principles, but to see how these principles have been applied. This would make everything seem like it’s making more sense to me. I am usually a very restless person and have a very short attention span, however though Ms.Marina’s lecture is the only lecture, which I wouldn’t feel like leaving half way or lost. This is because if I get distracted even a little bit the chances of me following the whole lecture is very slim and I am not the kind of person who would watch Rewind.

Then, there is Mr.Chung Tin Fah my tutor. Usually by the time its his class I would have been exhausted and tired cause his would be the final class of the day. Yet he still manages to make fun in class. Mr.Chung he is generally a nice teacher he shows the initiative that he wants to help his students, which I think is great. At times he makes a lot of jokes and makes class so much more fun. I don’t think we make much friends in our tutorial classes as we stick to the people we only know, yet the initiative is definitely taken.

I feel that sometimes we should have more class interaction activity other then just doing tutorials. Like showing videos, which are related to the topic. The Khan academy has a lot of these videos, which I find are more interesting and easier to understand at times, so maybe the tutors can play this in class when they are trying to summarize what has been thought in the lecture.

Basically I feel that economics is really fun and interesting. Yes it does get really complicating with all the graphs and technical terms, but its all-real life principle and what we go through in our daily life.
